  The Elizabeth Fry Society of Peel-Halton was started as a volunteer organization over 46 years ago.   North Peel & Dufferin Community Legal Services (“NPDCLS”) assists people who live in Brampton, Caledon, and Dufferin County.   PAARC offers many services and supports for people living with substance misuse and abuse, substance dependence, and harmful gambling. If you also live with a mental illness, you are welcome at PAARC. For a complete list of our services, click on PROGRAMS. All of our services and programs are confidential. You do not need a health card to access our services. With the exception of the Back on Track Program, all of PAARC's services are free to all our clients.

  Peel Family Shelter provides emergency housing for homeless families in Peel. It is designed with 60 units which can accommodate up to 225 people. The program operates 24 hours a day on a year-round basis.

  Portage is a non-profit organisation that established a residential substance abuse rehabilitation centre for adolescents in cooperation with the Government of Ontario. Portage offers comprehensive services within a continuum of care model aimed at helping users to overcome addiction problems. Its programs, which are based on the therapeutic community approach, encourage personal growth and enable residents to transform their lives. The Portage Elora treatment centre has a 40-bed capacity and provides substance abuse treatment for males and females in two gender-separate programs.

    St. Leonard’s Place Peel offers supportive transitional housing for men (ages 16 and up) who have a history of homelessness, mental illness, and addictions, and for those who have been in conflict with the law. Each resident is assigned a care coordinator to assist them in identifying and achieving goals towards successful community reintegration. In collaboration with the Peel Addiction Assessment & Referral Centre (PAARC), St. Leonard's Place Peel offers addictions counseling for our residents on-site. Each term has participants meeting for one-on-one counseling sessions twice a week for an eight week period, at which time successful participants are given recognition of their achievement. Our programming caters to the varying levels of cognitive ability to best suit each resident's unique needs.
